These are the webpages of Scott Lamb and the UK-based band “DeathBoy”.
The band was formed in 2001, taking it’s name from Scott’s solo work (which has led to confusion, as “DeathBoy” can mean either the individual, or the group in general) and currently comprises core members Scott Lamb and Adam Gelman (bass).
Musically, DeathBoy is generally characterised as “industrial breakbeat” (or if the lads are taking the piss, their invented term, “FuturePunk”). The sound is heavily electronic, making use of synthesizers and samples as well as more conventional bass, guitars, vocals and drums. Comparable bands are typically more guitar-led, whereas due to Scott’s musical background, the band’s sound is typically more informed by early techno and rave music than rock roots.
The band strives to sound (in their own words) “somewhere between Nine Inch Nails and the Prodigy”, and as well as these groups, are compared to / influenced by artists such as Jesus Jones, Pitch Shifter, Tricky, the Crystal Method, Gary Numan, the Orb and Massive Attack.
DeathBoy release music regularly (with a great deal of free mp3s made available), gig infrequently and generally make the place untidy. A more thorough biography will be added in the fullness of time.
The site is used as a way for Scott and other band members to communicate music, news and occasionally just whatever is passing through their heads at the time. It is mostly administrated and authored by Scott – if you want to get in touch with him, you can comment on posts where applicable, or send him an email on deathboy@deathboy.co.uk
Thank you for flying Air DeathBoy.
